Workout Songs – Slay Boredom With Music!

Time to bury tedium with tunes!  Yes, I hate working out too, but I’ve escaped the tedious grind by building myself a temple of music that shields me from the absolute boredom of my workout routine.  So to help you out, I’ll throw some tips your way so you can do the same!

The thing is, you need to get some music on your iPod that you actually enjoy.  While this sounds like freaking dumb logic, may people just throw whatever they get their hands on in the CD player or iPod and go to town.  Problem with that is, it’s pointless.  You won’t get the motivation or energetic adrenaline boost from random music.

Pick music that gets you going.  Music that will get you to the nirvana of “the zone.”  After all, the whole point of working out is to burn fat and gain muscle.  What gets in our way is the hindrance of the fact that working out is about as fun as stubbing your toe.  To get into a new mindset, get a new playlist!

Grab genres of music that are logical.  Don’t go getting stuff like love songs or classical masterpieces (unless you’re trying that new sleep workout.)  Instead, get music that gets ya revved and pumped.  Examples of this would be rock, hiphop, or even metal (is metal even considered music?)

Okay, huge mistake people make here… Not getting enough song variety on their iPod/CD player/Whatever...

Be sure to at least get around 20-30 minutes of solid audio.  Oh, also make sure it’s music you won’t get sick of easily.  The last thing you probably want is to be left in dead silence while running on the treadmill.  So listen to me now, and download music like a madman!

I think you get the gist:  get music you like, music that rocks, and a lot of it.  If you follow these simple steps you’ll be well on your way to a sexier body and a healthier mind!
